Games I own currently

As opposed to have ever owned…

Blade Runner — see write-up
Earth & Beyond — see write-up.
Heretic and Expansion Pack — see write-up.
Istaria/Horizons — see write-up.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 — awesome game, terrible bugs and crashes.
The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and expansion packs — see write-up.
Neverwinter Nights and Shadows of Undrentide expansion pack — see write-up
Pool of Radiance 2 — see write-up
Realms of the Haunting — see write-up.
Ultima 9: Ascension — see write-up.
Age of Conan — worth playing till you’re level 20. Beyond that? Play something else.
Age of Empires 2 — best RTS I’ve played.
Alan Wake — too much needless combat.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent — eerie shit, to be honest.
Anarchy Online — killed by the poisoned word potential.
ArcaniA (sic) – Gothic 4 — looks good, but that’s about it.
Arx Fatalis — Underworld 3 in all but name. Not as good as the Origin games.
Asheron’s Call 2 — R.I.P a game that I tried hard to like.
Assassin’s Creed 1 — interesting game, but I’m not a fan of the console theory that you can’t save at will.
Assassin’s Creed 2 — haven’t tried it yet.
Avadon: The Black Fortress — old school dungeon crawl. Hard to read text.
Baldur’s Gate 1 and Expansion Pack — just plain wonderful.
Baldur’s Gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal Expansion — even more wonderful.
Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II — dumbed down for the console crew, but good fun.
Batman: Arkham Asylum — Pretty good. Not keen on the Live login requirement
Bioshock 1 — well made, but bleh. Over-rated for mine. Needs a Live account
Bioshock 2 — more of the same
Black — can’t get used to the PS2′s controls for shooters.
Blood — great fun. Remember: there’s no business like show business.
Blood 2 and Expansion Pack — not so great sequel.
City of Heroes and City of Villains — great games…for a while. RIP.
Clive Barker’s Jericho — Can’t get into it.
Clive Barker’s Undying — fun and different.
Crysis Warhead — pretty, no doubt about it, but an average shooter all-up.
Dark Messiah: Might and Magic — better than I expected. Great fun really.
Dead Space 1 — mind-boggling stuff. Sure, there’s nothing original about it, but who cares. Enjoy the ride.
Dead Space 2 — Same formula as number one, but it still works.
Dear Esther — non-interactive walkabout of a gloomy Scottish island, with occasional narrative. Strange.
Deathtrap Dungeon — mindless action.
Deus Ex — great game, but bombed out repeatedly at the end for me.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution — I liked it. Love the various paths you can take.
Diablo I — great when it first came out, but gets old fast.
Diablo II — prettier version of the above.
Divine Divinity — Diablo meets Baldur’s Gate. I like it.
Doom 3 — over-rated. Semi-OK as a shooter.
Dragon Age 1 — felt there should’ve been more to it. Call me a wimp, but I found it harder than it needed to be.
Dragon Age 2 — more of the same, with more combat, less story.
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey — not as fresh as the Longest Journey. Why put combat in it?
Duke Nukem Forever — should’ve stayed Duke Nukem Never.
Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale — the game the word “generic” was invented for. In fact, it’s doing that word a disservice.
EVE Online — yawn
Everquest 1 and all Expansions up to The Legacy of Ykesha — hard to walk away from this, but I did.
Everquest 2 and all Expansions — still going. The one I come back to.
F.E.A.R and Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate expansions — interesting, but the supernatural encounters get old.
Fallout 1 and 2 — over-rated.
Fallout 3 — Oblivion goes post-apocalyptic. Pretty good.
Fallout: New Vegas — like this one better.
Far Cry 1 — great stuff. Better than average shooter.
Far Cry 2 — a great game trying to bust out of a driving and boating simulator
Forgotten Realms Archive — old, and they creak.
Full Throttle — amusing but full of annoying puzzles.
Gabriel Knight 3 — terrible puzzles.
Gothic 1 and 2 — hate those controls
Gothic 3 — poor man’s Oblivion.
Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods — utter shite.
Grand Theft Auto 3 — mega-coolness.
Grand Theft Auto Vice City — super cool stuff.
Half-Life 2: The Orange Box — doesn’t deserve the hype and there’s too much bug-hunting.
Half-Life and Opposing Force — HL1 is the best shooter I’ve ever played.
Heretic II — endlessly silly fun.
Hexen 2 and Expansion Pack — I played it for hours.
Icewind Dale 1 and Expansion Pack — ditto.
Icewind Dale 2 — ditto again.
Jedi Academy — better than Outcast, but not a patch on the first one.
Jedi Knight — the best Star Wars games I’ve played.
Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (expansion for above) — almost as good.
Jedi Knight II: Outcast — not as good as the first, but still better than most.
Lands of Lore 1 — great when I first played it. Wouldn’t touch it now.
Lands of Lore 2 — not as good, too many dead ends.
L.A Noire — captivating, very much so.
Lord of the Rings Online and expansions — Excellent game. One I keep going back to.
Lord of the Rings: War in the North — hack, slash, hack, hack, slash…
Mass Effect 1 — Knight of the Old Republic sans the Star Wars licence. Pretty good however.
Mass Effect 2 — more of the same, but the planet scanning gets old.
Mass Effect 3 — couldn’t get into this like the first two. Not sure why.
Medieval II: Total War and Kingdoms expansion — not my cup of java.
Metro 2033 — fun but it has some annoying parts.
Painkiller — weird.
Planescape: Torment — weird and wonderful.
Quake 2 — awesome fun online.
Quake 3 — more of the same, just prettier.
Quake 4 — interesting.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein — good fun, undeniably so.
Return to Krondor — great story/game ruined by shitty game mechanics.
Rush to Berlin — not my scene.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R – Call of Pripyat — Arguably the best of the three.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R – Clear Sky — More difficult than the first one.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R – Shadow of Chernobyl — creepy stuff. Great game. Enough said.
Sanitarium — intriguing stuff, shame about the bugs.
Secret Files Tunguska — absolutely horrid puzzles. Won’t run on Windows 7.
Shadow Warrior — best one-liners in any game.
Shannara — lasted 3 minutes.
Sim City 2000 — barely touched it.
Sim Tower — ditto.
Sin — just another shooter.
Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2 — 1 is hella fun, 2 not so much.
Space Siege — nothing special.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 — awesome game, hooray for having less bugs.
Star Wars: The Old Republic — it’s what everyone says: WoW with lightsabres. Could’ve been a classic but they went down a beaten path.
System Shock 2 — excellent but not as good as the first one, or as ground-breaking.
The Elder Scrolls: Arena — where it all started.
The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and the Shivering Isles expansion pack — wicked stuff. I’ll do a write-up one day.
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim — more of the same and it’s all good.
The Guild 1 and 2 — tried to like them, but just not my scene.
The Longest Journey — fun and different squared.
The Secret World — Funcom may have got this one right.
The Sims Online — big-time bleh.
Thief 1 — Not my kind of game.
Thief 2 – ditto.
Tomb Raider 1 — annoying puzzles.
Ultima Online — bleh.
Unreal — pretty but average shooter.
Warlords III — not my cup of tea.
Wolfenstein (2009) — fun but gets tedious toward the end.
World of Warcraft — lasted a month at it. Can see why it’s big, but it’s not for me.
